Geothermal Slimhole Drilling
One of the alternatives to conduct geothermal exploration drilling is using slimhole well drilling. Slimhole well is generally drilled using a smaller rig, such as coring rig or small multipurpose rig. Slimhole drilling offers several advantages, such as smaller pad and less infrastructure required, thus potentially can be drilled with less cost.
However, several questions are still lingering to date:
Can it be drilled deep enough to reach the reservoir?
Is the well able to be flow tested?
